Professor Randall Sexton is San José State University professor teaching lower and upper division introductory, intermediate, and advanced graphic design and typography courses, he has served as Graphic Design Program Coordinator, School of Art and Design Associate Director, and Department of Design Chair.
Professor Sexton started his career working for the IBM Corporation as a Designer/Art Director, in 1990 he established Sexton Design, a multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm located in San Francisco California, specializing in visual communications for print and new media, including strategic and tactical art direction, rapid visual prototyping, and information visualization for bay area startups and fortune 500 companies.
His work, as well as the work of his students has received various citations for graphic design excellence, and exhibited in the American Institute of Graphic Arts annual, Type Directors Club annual, Graphis Posters annual, How, SIGGRAPH, and IDEA Magazines.
